It has been 13 years now since the infamous terrorists attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. Since then this day has been referred in somber reverent tone as 9/11. The day has shocked United States to the core, so much so that its citizens afterwards were all too ready to give a blank check of power and authority to that nation’s politicians. We allowed the legislators to strip us our Constitutional rights, we’ve accepted methods and forms of tyranny in the name of national security, and worse still, we’ve okayed the bloodshed and pillaging of hundreds of thousands across the Atlantic. It has been thirteen years now and our involvement in this cycle of violence has not stopped. In fact it’s starting to ramp up again. I remind myself this is the legacy of 9/11 up to this point. It’s something I hope more of us can realize, and something none of us ever forgets.
